About Me 1: My Daily Essentials

It’s the WEEKEND!! hope you are all having an ace start to it – and if you’re not, perhaps reading my post will put you in a better  mood? I am sharing the things I can’t possible do without on a daily basis, they are essential to getting me through the day and getting jobs done.

Right let’s get into the post: first this – Tea no surprise here!  It’s the first thing that pass my lips and most nights the last. I am currently trying out Tetley Kenyan Gold blend as my morning pick me up, 2 days in and I think it’s not bad. Perhaps my proudest achievement thus far is having a tea cupboard –  maybe one day I’ll share some behind the scenes shots of my every growing tea and tea wear collection. I have a number of different types throughout the day, especially if I am home, but I am known to carry a stack around with me (don’t judge me).

Notebook and Phone
These go with me everywhere,  e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e my notebooks are an extension of my phone and my phone an extension of my notebooks. They are essential for jotting down ideas on the go or when I am doing recipe development etc

Cute shoes and Scarves
I have a thing for shoes. I know, how cliche` of me – but it’s true. Not so much bags anymore, I had to choose, and I chose shoes. I am still running out of storage! I wear a scarf in any weather, if I go out without one in my bag I feel naked, they are so versatile, and can dress an outfit up or down, hide a multitude of sins, plus they keep the chill off and are great layering pieces. I have quite a few of them to suit any weather.

Cats ‘what?’ yes, my cats, they are essential – sort of  my alarm (with claws), plus they would wreck my kitchen, the house, then (maybe) die of hunger if I didn’t feed them. The one on the right likes to sit behind me as I work on the computer (not enough room for both of us but we make it work) and Mr. Mustache is a mommies boy – follows me everywhere.

Computer (laptop) and glasses
The majority of my day is spent in front of this box. Job searches, organising meetings or classes, writing blog posts and just generally keeping up with the world, without the glasses I wouldn’t get anything done.

Food, glorious food! yes, being a foodie, and a cooking tutor means I am surrounded by food in all it’s good, bad and indifferent glory. I tend to just eat when I’m hungry or when I remember (yep, sometimes I get busy and forget to eat). I have an appreciation for eating and love using up left overs.

Sleep I love my bed – fact! I would like to say I get enough sleep but I don’t, sadly (queue soppy string music). There was a time, so long ago now I can hardly remember, the last time it has happened. When all it took for me to be out cold was simply introducing my head to a soft pillow. Sigh, oh for those nights.

There you have it, my daily essentials…
